Melons and Oranges

It feels as though I haven't spun for a long time. I have been knitting little hats for Africa and little hat and jumper sets for a friends charity stall. It's good to get my hands back on some fibre and a spindle : )

About a year ago I dyed this merino using some steam-fix silk dyes, just to see what would happen.

I have finally got round to spinning it up and it looks lovely. I like the way it has spun into a mix of melon and orange. When it is plied it should be about sock weight I think.
